Mainstay Celebrates Direct Support

Professional Recognition Week 2024

By Kim Sonafelt, Chief Executive Officer

As we celebrate Direct Support Professional Week (9/8 – 9/14), I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible work the Mainstay DSPs do every day. Your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to enriching the lives and unlocking the potential of those you support are truly inspiring.

Each interaction you have, every moment of patience you show, and the countless acts of kindness you offer make a profound difference in the lives of the people you work with, and their families and friends. You are advocates, mentors, and wing people. Your ability to empower others and foster independence is a testament to your remarkable skills, dedication, and heart.

This week is a celebration of you—the heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes, too often without recognition. Please know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of our organization, and your contributions are invaluable.

Let’s take this time to reflect on the positive impact we have in our communities and to uplift one another. Thank you for your dedication, your strength, and your passion. Together, we are making a difference, one person at a time.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Kim Sonafelt
CEO
